Rich People & Backward Thinking

Tom seemed like your everyday rich guy who gets any girl he wants. He feels like he can do anything he wants because he has money. For example, he cheats on his wife. It also feels like his wife does not truly love him.

The Great Gatsby Notes Chapter 1

The first Chapter is an introduction of the main character Nick Carraway. He also talks about a hero named Gatsby, who he thought was a great man. Nick's cousin Daisy and her fiance Tom are introduce to the story. Nick  has dinner with his cousin and friends. After that dinner he sees Gatsby for the first time on the lawn.

Steinbeck article

I chose the link “literary fairy godfather” because it sounded interesting. It was also the first link in the article. I think the article was interesting because everyone acts a certain way.

Rhetorical Analysis

I have seen Barack obama’s speeches and he has done a great job. He wears nice suits and talks clearly during a speech. He also talks in a formal voice. I feel like it would be the same if I saw him speak in real life because I don’t feel the emotions he has when speaking.

NOTES FROM TODAY’S LECTURE

I have learned many things about what PATHOS, LOGOS, and SETHOS could mean. Pathos can be the passion or emotion that is given to a person to convince if they care about someone or a topic.Ethos can be used to show a person that someone knows what they are talking about. This can be shown by the clothes, language, diction, or syntax used by a person. Logos can be used to show logic and show that the speaker’s arguement makes sense.

The Monkey’s paw

This story was about a family who found a magical paw which granted 3 wishes. Little did they know  that getting 3 wishes wasn’t that simple. The theme of this story was “ Be carefull what you wish for,” because even though the family got their wishes, karma came back to haunt them by killing the family son. I would not recommend this story because it just shows how desperate humans can be to do anything that can benefit them. This story will also be forgotten in the future, and it does not teach the reader a lesson because it is fiction.

To Build A Fire

The Gift Of The Magi

ACCOMPLISH

I hope to have successfully passed all my classes with the best scores I have ever gotten. I also hope to learn more about why and how we socialize with others.

NEXT STEPS

My big question is not a common question that is asked and is a hard question to answer. I have thought of a question that is different from other simple questions

THE BENEFIT

My question will help others focus on getting better scores and grades in class. It would show people how to change the situation they are in into something better.

THE ROAD

I chose my big question because it is very hard to answer. It is also a great question to ask, and it can help others if it is answered.

BIG QUESTION

My big question is a hard question to answer because there is no simple answer to it. My question is “How do I get my grades higher then they already are even though I am trying my best?” Everybody would answer with “try harder,” but that is not a great answer because I am already trying my best.
