Literature Analysis: Next Level.
(1) What drew me to this story was to read about how blacks reacted and endured the hardships of racism and racial profiling. This is because racism still exists today, and I like rooting for the underdogs. I hoped to see action and to see the blacks stand up for their rights and what they believe.
(2)As I kept reading I noticed how the black children would use slang language. They would use words that are not real, but are commonly used. I kept reading because I could relate and because I would also use fake words when I was younger. I also kept reading because I support race equality. Blacks are are the main target of racial profiling like Hispanics which I am and I feel like we both have a strong connection that other races don't because of it.
(3) I do not read very often because nowadays we have movies and television. It also does not take as long to watch a film than to read a book. I do not mind reading, and if I find an interesting book I would probably read the whole thing. I do not read because I do not have the time to read either. I don't even have the time to watch television.
1. An example of indirect characterization is that Cassie is outspoken and unafraid. This is because the author shows how she ignores the racists and how she stand up to what she believes in.
Another example of indirect characterization is that Little man is a clean and tidy person. This is because he at the beginning of the story he is trying his hardest to stay clean. He goes as far as to get left behind by the others just so that his shoes won't get dirty.
2. The author's diction changes when he focuses on a character by using different types of literary techniques. When he describes a character of a character's action he uses different literary techniques.
3.The protagonist is a dynamic character because she experiences hate which leads to her becoming more loving. She also stood up to racism after a long time of being harassed because of her skin color.
4.I felt like I was watching my favorite sports team playing because I was rooting for the protagonist he whole way. I felt relieved that the protagonist stopped facing hardships after so long.
